you are most cordially invited to the silent film party.

we will be celebrating silent films and their stars from the early

1900s through the 1920s.  performances will be inspired by selected

films, and there will be live piano accompaniment to selected scenes. 

 

come dressed as your favorite silent film star, silent film character,
 hollywood mogul, director, theatre usher, or anyone associated with the

silent film era . . .  rudolph valentino, clara bow, greta garbo, charlie chaplin, delores del rio, douglas fairbanks, mary pickford, buster keaton, louise

brooks, john barrymore,  gloria swanson, harold lloyd, lillian gish,

ramon novarro, john gilbert, pola negri, theda barra . . .

  

doors will open at 10:15pm.

music and performance will start shortly thereafter

and continue into the wee hours. 

     

a personal note:  

 i want to thank you all for your incredible support

of shanghai mermaid.  as i'm sure you've noticed, the number  

of people in attendance has increased quite dramatically (and unexpectedly)

since our halloween party.  because of this, we will now be limiting ticket sales.  i want there to be room for everyone to dance, mingle, and have a shorter  wait for a cocktail!  this means that tickets will sell out in advance, and that prices will need to go up ever so slightly.  thank you in advance for understanding.  thanks too, for going through our growing pains with us, and for continuing to be a part of the shanghai mermaid adventure . . .  you are truly integral to the magic.  xo. 

     

tickets are $30.

 tables are $75, and seat from 2-4 people maximum.

costume or vintage attire is required.

no casual or contemporary attire will be admitted.  no exceptions.
